Gavin hails from Portsmouth, one of Englands oldest naval ports and so a place where he grew up surrounded by a long tradition of tattoos and tattooing.
Portsmouth was also the home of the famous Ron Ackers and Darren Stares, the latter having had the dubious honour of being Gavin's best man - TWICE!!
Gavin's interest in tattooing stemmed from his friendship with Darren and being around the tattooing scene. He has since worked in his home town and abroad, doing a season in Greece.
He first met John from Dragon Fashions over 10 years ago whilst attending the Madhatters Convention in Maine, USA and - after romance led him to Birmingham - he began tattooing at Dragon Fashions in 2006.
